Where did we come from and where are we going?

What use to be the old “POS WINKEL” on Kameeldrift was the roots of what Kameeldrift Hardware is today. In 1969, Roelof Joubert bought the shop and the property. Different product ranges and departments were added with time.

Later on Christo and Amanda Joubert took over the whole business. 

The current owner used to work in this shop as a student, on and off since 1980 – 1987.
With time the café, feeds and hardware split and every department became a business in its own right, which was sold separately.

On 1st March 1999, Wentzel Faber bought the hardware, now known as Kameeldrift Hardware. What started off as a 120m² business in 1970, is now a more than 1500m² plus the yard of 3000m² for bulk building material.
